Graphic Design Projects (http://www.flickr.com/photos/38831842@N04/4634510239/in/set-72157624124873798/)

It was been a swell summer! Reconnecting with the pass, making amends, and just plain having fun. This particular project I would like to share was completed in my Graphic Design course at San Jose State. It is a comprehensive final project that progressively expanded from previous projects. We started with an object in which we represented in graphical form - I chose the drilbit.

The drillbit is a complex form in which the challenge was to represent the form in a simplified and yet representational in terms of contrast and space. From that idea, one had to create a poster utilizing the form and somehow tie it to a subject matter. My idea was the chemistry of coating that is applied to a drillbit. I chose pastel like colors that felt organic like in the nature of chemistry. I used a hexagonal feel with strong leading lines as to mimic the atomic structure of the infinitely smallest matter in existence. With a transparent, enlarged drillbit and supporting text, I have a informational poster providing both visual and strong textual content.

Enjoy! Also browse through the many more projects in my Flikr! Stay tuned for more!

Well, at least with my Bachelor's Degree in Design Studies with emphasis in Graphic Design, Master's in the future? After a minor scare with weather and possible rain, the day was sunny and absolutely perfect! Shout out to my mom, who has always been there to support. May 28, 2010, the day of the Art and Design Convocation will not be forgotten! Best day ever - so far!

Visit my updated Flickr! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/38831842@N04/)

After going through tons of course work from my time at Evergreen Community College and San Jose State University, I have uploaded them onto my Flickr account. They are best viewed by Sets. Feel free to take a look and add me as a contact if you haven't already!

On the right is a preview of some of the photos that is featured in my Flickr account. This picture is untitled and belongs to a series that I did for my alternative processes course at SJSU. My concept focused around the Earthiness, grimy, dirty, and disgusting yet naturalistic scene of worms and compost. Through the set, I created a book, instilling the same Earthy feel with materials such as burlap.

Stay tuned for more as I continue to feature my work!

Last Day!!!

Yeah, yep, it's here...THE LAST DAY OF FALL SEMESTER!!! Two weeks of little to no sleep. Many skipped meals, improvised stuff...yeah...stuff - so, ehhhhh, I'm just brain dead right now. So many things have gone into this head and out, I just wanna kick back and celebrate. One thing comes to mind!

The best and only way to celebrate. I'ma go out, chill with my friends, eat, and catch a movie. Oh, and lots of cruising, maybe a road trip. I still haven't stopped by Christmas in the Park of San Jose yet. Oh, and I'm primed for an upgrade of my tv > HDTV!!! Hells Yeah!!!

The Rated-R Comedy Pt. III

This is the last part of my Rated-R Comedy rant. The truth is, some may have the idea that if a comedy is rated-r, it's raunchy and only serves to get cheap laughs. Cheap laughs meaning foul language or obscene scenes are only inserted to get a giggle, chuckle or laugh-out-loud reaction without really contributing to the story. This may be true in certain lackluster flicks like The Brothers Solomon but there are far many more great movies like Baby Mama that utilizes that Rated R title with very much purpose. The cast to these movies have considerably become star-filled. As with Robert Downey Jr's role in Tropic Thunder in which one of the best lines ever is given:
